Terms of use

Effective 3 October 2026 · applies to lockd for Mac and lockd for iPhone

These terms cover lockd for Mac and lockd for iPhone, made by Poor Devs (“we”). By using lockd you agree to them. They are written to be read; if anything is unclear, write to us.

Your licence

On Mac, buying lockd gives you a personal licence to use it on your own Macs, including every update we release for it.

On iPhone, lockd is distributed through the App Store, and Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to it. These terms add to that agreement; where the two differ, Apple’s agreement governs the iPhone app.

Please don’t copy, resell or redistribute lockd, or alter it to get around its purchase checks.

lockd+ on iPhone

lockd for iPhone is free to download. lockd+ is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks every room and every sound. It is offered as a yearly and a monthly plan; the price, in your currency, is shown before you confirm, and some plans start with a free trial.

Buying lockd for Mac

lockd for Mac is a one-time purchase. Checkout, payment and receipts are handled by Polar, which sells lockd on our behalf. For a refund or a problem with your purchase, write to support@poordevs.com.

Music and sounds

Music is streamed from Audius and belongs to the artists who publish it there; lockd plays it for your personal listening under the Open Music License and the Audius API terms. Tracks and stations depend on Audius and can change or become unavailable. The ambient sounds are public-domain and CC0 recordings or are synthesized in the app; the credits are on the home page.

Changes to lockd

We keep improving lockd, so features, rooms, scenes and stations may change over time. The parts that use the internet, such as music, depend on services we don’t control.

No warranty

lockd is provided as is. We work to keep it reliable, but to the extent the law allows, we make no promise that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, and we aren’t liable for indirect losses from using it. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live. Please keep the volume at a comfortable level, especially with headphones and when falling asleep.

Privacy

lockd collects no personal data. The privacy policy describes the few network requests the apps make and who handles purchases.
